Casillero del Diablo has won excellent reviews for the second year in a row in three of the most important wine guides in the Netherlands, with high scores for its Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.
Wine Almanak, the most famous wine guide in Holland, awarded prizes to six 2009 Casillero del Diablo wines. Merlot was given three stars, the highest score in this guide. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz followed with two stars each.
On its part, another important Dutch wine guide, Superwijngids, gave its “Bicycle” award to the 2009 vintages of Casillero del Diablo Merlot, Carmenere, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Viognier.
Finally, De Grote Hamersma, a new Dutch wine guide, also emphasized the quality of the 2009 Casillero del Diablo vintage. Out of a maximum 10 points, the Merlot variety scored 9+ points and Chardonnay 9 points. Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere followed close behind with 8.5 points each.
These important distinctions once again endorse the great quality achieved by Casillero del Diablo’s different wine varieties.
