In order to bring closer and to continue spreading the wine legend among our consumers, Marcelo Papa, Casillero del Diablo’s winemaker, concluded a successful tour together with Casillero del Diablo in Japan, China and Australia during July.
The tour started in Tokyo, Japan, where Marcelo was a protagonist in various interviews for Japanese magazines. He highlighted the main valleys that have been discovered in Chile for wine production, with particular emphasis on the Limarí Valley, located about 400 kilometers from Santiago, Chile. “This place has the precise conditions to cultivate mainly white wine varieties as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, among others, since it has a fresh climate with mineral soils and the ideal luminosity, simply a unique place,” stated the winemaker.
After being in China a year ago, Marcelo returned again to delight himself with this culture, this time visiting the cities of Qingdao, Chengdu, Xiamen and Shanghai, where he carried out entertaining activities with clients, specialized press and fans who were waiting for the signature of the winemaker in their bottles of Casillero del Diablo.
“The experience in Asia was extraordinary; we were able to show and make tasting of a great part of our Reserva and Reserva Privada lines. People really enjoyed our wines and at the same time they realized that they are an excellent alternative to accompany all kinds of oriental food, thanks to all our wine varieties,” Marcelo stated.
The tour ended in Australia, in the cities of Sydney and Melbourne, where Marcelo carried out seminars referring to Casillero del Diablo’s different varieties, as well as talking about the importance of the valleys where the wine varieties of Casillero del Diablo are born.
