Two well-known Manchester United legends, Andrew Cole and Dwight Yorke, arrived in Chile for the first time on 21 April to take part in a number of activities including an extended visit of the Tourism Centre in Pirque and the old Casillero del Diablo wine cellar.
On 21 April the two legends—who were “Red Devils” stars in the late 1990s played in a rousing “footgolf” (a mixture of football and golf) championship along with former Chilean footballers and other personalities in the Sport Francés Golf Club in Santiago, followed by a press conference with major Chilean media at the same centre.
In the evening the two former MU players participated in a meet & greet with fans, Chilean footballers, Concha y Toro executives, and of course Casillero del Diablo wines in a relaxed and entertaining setting that even included a surprise magic show.
The next day Andrew and Dwight went to the Tourism Centre in Pirque and had lunch in the Casona de Pirque along with Casillero del Diablo and Manchester United executives. After lunch they visited the varietal garden, where they tasted the different varieties of grapes that were still on the vines. The last stop was the famous Casillero del Diablo cellar, where they were delighted to learn the story behind the legend that began there and gave rise to this celebrated line of wines.
The moment everyone was waiting for arrived in the afternoon. Hundreds of fans greeted the pair with cheers and chants at the Alto Las Condes Mall, where they interacted with the fans, signed autographs, and played “poolfoot,” a mixture of pool and football.
