The arrival of four historic Manchester United players to Chile last Monday, October 3rd, was cause of tremendous excitement among the club’s fans. Sir Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt visited the country to celebrate the anniversary of the partnership between Concha y Toro winery and the “Red Devils”.
On Tuesday, following various press activities and a meeting chaired by the distinguished Chilean ex- football player, Elias Figueroa, former ManUtd players received the public´s affection at the exclusive Casillero del Diablo stand installed in one of the city’s largest shopping centers. The stand included a display of the Barclays Premier League Trophy, the club’s 19th title in the UK, as well as nineteen club cult objects such as David Beckham’s and Wayne Rooney’s shoes and Edwin van der Sar’s gloves, among others.
Wednesday was the day of the visit to Concha y Toro winery in Pirque, with a tour of installations guided by company President Alfonso Larrain, including a visit of the Casona belonging to winery founder Don Melchor. The Legends were finally able to learn about the legendary Casillero del Diablo and to stamp their signatures as members of Casillero del Diablo Brotherhood, vowing to accompany it for life.
At the end of the tour the four guests expressed their enthusiasm with the visit and their surprise with the impressive reception of ManUtd fans in Chile. “I take this opportunity to thank all those who have made this trip possible, especially Alfonso Larrain (Concha y Toro Chairman) who together with his team have built a great company,” concluded Sir Bobby Charlton.
