It was a dream weekend for 70 Casillero del Diablo customers who participated in the Casillero del Diablo Devil’s Match between Manchester United vand Aston Villa, accompanied by a tremendous brand activation before and during the event.
It all began on Thursday, 14 April, when the guests from 17 different countries arrived in Manchester. Later that day they gathered at George’s, the restaurant owned by MU Legend Ryan Giggs, for an exclusive dinner during accompanied, of course, by Casillero del Diablo wines.
The next morning they visited the imposing Old Trafford stadium with a special behind-the-scenes tour that included different sectors of the “Theatre of Dreams” including the locker room the Red Devils use every weekend, where they found Manchester United jerseys with their own names on them.
After this very entertaining morning, the group went to Rosso, the Italian restaurant owned by the club’s famous former centre-back Rio Ferdinand. That evening the 70 guests attended an exclusive gala event in the Evolution Suite in the Old Trafford Stadium. They were all surprised (and pleased) when Sir Alex Ferguson, the historic Red Devil’s trainer of 27 years arrived. The legendary trainer visited with the Casillero del Diablo guests and of course posed with them for pictures.
Saturday 16 April was the big day, and while the group waited for the match to begin, they enjoyed an exclusive reception with a selection of Casillero del Diablo varieties in a special pre-hospitality area set up just outside the stadium. Club legends such as Ryan Gigg, Quinton Fortune, and Bryan Robson accompanied the guests as they waited anxiously for the match to begin.
Manchester United emerged victorious from a very heated battle, winning 1-0 over Aston Villa, before the 80,000 fans that filled the stadium, including Casillero del Diablo’s 70 guests who will certainly remember this event for a lifetime.
