Days full of surprises and emotions were in store for thousands of Manchester United fans during the English team’s latest tour of China, along with Casillero del Diablo.
It all began in Shanghai on July 20 with a much-awaited Meet & Greet, during which the team’s top players, such as Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, and Daley Blind signed shirts and shared an intimate moment with MU fans and Casillero del Diablo customers.
The event provided the perfect opportunity to present the Casillero del Diablo Legendary Collection, a limited-edition wine, made in honour of the successful alliance with the British team. Different communications media covered the event and interviewed both Viña Concha y Toro executives and Red Devils players.
Casillero del Diablo also hosted a party later that day and delighted 200 enthusiastic guests with the different varieties of the Reserva line.
The main attraction of the evening was the appearance of three outstanding Legends of the club: Sir Bobby Charlton, Dwight Yorke, and Bryan Robson, who charmed the guests along with the trophy that Manchester United won in the FA Cup just a few months earlier. The former players took time to sign autographs and share some stories with their fans.
Casillero del Diablo is presented to the Club’s technical staff
One of the most moving moments was when the Viña Concha y Toro executives presented the Casillero del Diablo brand to the Manchester United technical staff led by team manager José Mourinho.
They talked about the history of the winery as well as the magical legend that has surrounded Casillero del Diablo since the beginning. But the big moment was the tasting of the brand’s different lines, and the varieties captivated the entire Red Devil technical team.
The Manchester United debut arrives
The day of the Manchester United debut finally arrived, and before the game, hundreds of fans gathered at the Metro Store supermarket in Shanghai to meet two of the team’s great Legends, Bryan Robson and Korean player Ji Sung Park.
The fans were able to see the FA Cup in person and take pictures not only with former players, but also with MU’s classic mascot, Fred the Red.
Thirty lucky contest winners also joined the English team’s Legends and boarded an exclusive bus from the supermarket to the Shanghai Stadium to watch the Red Devils play.
MU’s loss to Borussia Dormund was not enough to dampen the spirits of the Casillero del Diablo’s 100 guests, including customers and fans who enjoyed a unique experience along with 50,000 other fans.
The last stop on the tour was Beijing. Manchester United fans and Casillero del Diablo customers from Korea, Vietnam, and Singapore had the privilege of meeting 17 players of the Red Devils’ first team in an exclusive Meet & Greet.
The activities then moved to a point of sale, specifically to the Metro Store Supermarket, where hundreds of fans had the opportunity to meet team Legends Bryan Robson and Denis Irwin, who never tired of signing jerseys, caps, and bottles of Casillero del Diablo for enthusiastic MU fans.
