A few days after finishing an intense and successful world tour through South Africa, China, Norway, Sweden and Germany, the English team Manchester United along with Casillero del Diablo gave the initial kick off to the new 2012 – 2013 season of European competitions.
With the aim of preparing the best possible way to start the football season, the “Red Devils” traveled through various cities around the world from July to August. As in the previous two seasons, Casillero del Diablo was present in this tour, reinforcing its global image through attractive activations in each of the disputed games, in addition to carrying out diverse activities with distributors and clients.
The first stop, on July 18, was Durban, South Africa. It was in this city where the players, leaded by Sir Alex Ferguson, defeated the Amazulu FC team 1-0. Three days afterwards, the “Red Devils” measured themselves against the Ajax Cape Town in the city of the same name in an entertaining 1-1 tie.
Casillero del Diablo made its debut in the digital boards of both stadiums, also being present with its cinematic TV Spot on the giant screens or jumbotrons of the sports’ facilities.
During their stay in South Africa, Casillero del Diablo invited clients of the African continent, who had the opportunity to watch Manchester United live.
The 2012 tour continued this time in Asian lands, specifically in Shanghai, China, on July 23. Here, Bryan Robson, one of the legends of the English team, was protagonist of a Sam’s Club store in a Casillero del Diablo stand. Hundreds of fans and consumers of our brand were present to get their Casillero del Diablo signed by the historical players.
During the night, the authorities of Concha y Toro Vineyard invited important representatives of Manchester United to an exclusive dinner with distinguished figures such as the Manager of the English team, Sir Alex Ferguson, their technical staff, as well as legendary players such as Quinton Fortune, Andy Cole and Bryan Robson. The protagonist of that night was Casillero del Diablo, the host throughout the whole evening.
If the legends were first, the next day was the turn for the players, who attended to a meet and greet event where the local press, clients and football fans were invited. That was how the emblematic player Paul Scholes, along with the Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia, with the company of the promising players Scott Wootton and Marnick Vermijl, mingled with the visitors, who obtained such desirable signatures from the players.
The day awaited by all Manchester United fans in China arrived; the Old Trafford players measured themselves against the Chinese team Shanghai Shezhua in a crowded stadium and an unforgettable atmosphere. A select group of clients had the privilege of being just a few meters from the pitch and the players, who took the time before the game to sign different articles for the clients.
The match was won by Manchester United with the goal of the Japanese Shinji Kagawa, recently incorporated. During the game, Casillero del Diablo made itself present in the digital boards of the stadium, while the brand’s TV Spot appeared in the giant screens.
After a great experience in China, Manchester United traveled to Oslo, Norway, where they played a game against Valerenga on August 5.
Clients of the Concha y Toro Vineyard office in Norway were invited to enjoy a Casillero del Diablo winetasting along with the club’s historical legends, Peter Schmeichel and Denis Irwin. After that they had the opportunity to be present at the disputed tie between both teams.
The tour continued in the neighboring country; this time the English team was welcomed by Sweden, where they played a game which was expected by many football fans against Spanish FC Barcelona. The result of the game was a tie, which was viewed by clients of Concha y Toro Vineyard in Sweden, clients who had been previously invited to a winetasting reception of different Casillero del Diablo’s varieties.
The players leaded by Sir Alex Ferguson ended this complete tour in Germany, facing the local team Hannover 96 in a very entertaining game which was won by Manchester United before a much expected beginning of the Premier League in England.
