Casillero del Diablo earns high praise in report by wine critic James Suckling
Casillero del Diablo received extraordinary scores in the latest report on Chile released by the celebrated wine critic James Suckling. The 2014 Casillero del Diablo Leyenda received 93 points, and the 2015 Casillero del Diablo Reserva Privada received 91 points.
These results continue to back the quality of Casillero del Diablo Leyenda following its successful launch in early 2015. James Suckling described it as:
“A very aromatic red with fresh basil, tea and currant. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a tangy and crisp finish. Aged first in small barrel for 8 months (35% new) and then large Gamba casks for 12 months. Gives the wine light austerity and definition. This is a new small production wine from the big brand.”
The Casillero del Diablo Reserva Privada Cabernet Sauvignon also continues to reap praise and establish itself in the Super Premium category with major accolades, such as Suckling’s description in his report:
“A very pretty Maipo Valley cabernet (10% syrah) with a fine and silky palate and lovely ripe fruit. Medium body. Fruity and delicious. A touch of class to the well-priced cabernet.”
