Reserva Privada

Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah

Casillero del Diablo Reserva Privada is elaborated from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes selected from Pirque vineyards, place of origin of Casillero del Diablo in the Maipo Valley. This wine is an exclusive product, that combine mixture of fruit, power and delicacy.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes

Ruby red colour with violet hues.

The flavours that typify a Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo Valley are clearly present in the beginning, such as the fresh cassis, plums and certain cherry flavors. The barrel notes are elegantly expressed with the coffee and graphite. All of these are perfectly integrated and balanced.

The presence of the fruit is remarkable thanks to the lively acidity, allowing notes of blackberries, cassis and figs to flourish. The tannins are strong but thanks to the barrel aging they end being round and long. The end palate is complex with flavors of the barrels like brown sugar and spices.

Enjoy With:

This wine is versatile for food paring. From different cuts of red meat, to lamb, goat, duck and veal. Meat with a good quantity of fat/grease is recommended due to the high presence of tannins that harmonize perfectly with the composition of the meat (fat/grease and proteins). Mature cheeses are equally recommended above all if they are used in sauces.

More about this valley

Pirque | Cabernet Sauvignon

Pirque's vineyards, in the Maipo Valley, are fully mature and deliver the best possible balance and quality year-in year-out.

Located in one of the coolest places of the Maipo Valley, the vineyard is set on a Maipo River terrace, a kilometer away from its current course. The thin, nutrient-poor sandy-loam soil is of alluvial origin and affords good drainage. Vines rooted here naturally curb grape yields producing more concentrated fruit.

Maipo's generous weather, with its warm days and cold nights, assists tannin ripening and preserves the fruit's color and aroma.

More about this valley

Peumo | Syrah

Syrah comes straight from Peumo vineyards planted on foothills in the Rapel Valley.

South-facing the vineyard is open to the influence of evening breezes off the nearby Cachapoal River, and is a cooler spot within a notably warmer valley.

The mostly clayish soils and inclined terrain favor drainage and, as a result, balanced vines with smaller, more concentrated berries. Long summers help the grapes ripen fully and properly and thus further their depths of character and color.
